Tutor: Paula Hanigan

Before tutoring Thomson Education Direct’s Interior Design course, Paula started out studying to be a nurse, then a survey drafting officer, before realising that her future lay in the creative world of interior decorating. She has more than 15 years’ experience in Interior Design.

Mind you, after her first experience in home decoration - decking out her bedroom at the age of 15 with silver foil and paisley wall paper - it was clear there was no career like interior decorating more obviously suited to her talents.

Despite an inauspicious start in home decoration, Paula has worked for a number of reasonably large design firms and managed a team of designers before deciding to set up her own company in Sydney.

Her company mainly caters for corporate projects, and her clients include Atari, Alleasing, Calyon Australia Limited and Wizard Home Loans.

Interior Design Courses

Having studied Interior Design at the Design Centre, Enmore, Paula now teaches Interior Design courses part-time there, as well as tutoring for Thomson Education Direct. She has enjoyed imparting the wealth of her experience to students of Interior Design courses for the past two years.

Paula is an interior designer and tutor and she is also a member and keen supporter of the DIA (Design Institute of Australia).
